About GK2DB
GK2DB is a fan-made reference for Graveyard Keeper 2, the medieval graveyard management game by Lazy Bear Games, published by tinyBuild. It is not an official site and neither company is involved.
Where the information comes from
Everything here is worked out from the game's own files: its code, its balance tables, its text and dialogue, and the layout of its scenes. For questions like "how much does this cost", "what unlocks that" or "why did my sermon fail", the code is a more exact source than playing, because it is what the game actually runs.
The site has two kinds of page.
- Tables (items, buildings, workstations, technologies, perks, quests and the rest) are generated straight from the game's data, so every number in them is the number the game uses.
- Guides and mechanics pages are written by hand after working out how each system runs. Every statement in them is traced to a place in the code, a data table or a line of game text. If something follows from the files but has not been seen in play, the page says it is unconfirmed.
Keeping up with updates
When the game is patched, the data is extracted again and the tables are rebuilt. Written pages carry a note of the build they were last checked against. A page that has not been re-checked since the data changed says so at the top. The footer of every page shows the build the data comes from; right now that is build 4599483364566526977.
The site can also be read in Simplified Chinese: pick it from the language menu at the top of the page. Game names in Chinese are the official ones from the game itself. The guides are translated from the English text, which remains the reference if the two ever disagree.
Who runs it
One person, in their spare time, out of interest in the game. With a game this size some mistakes will get through. If you find one, or something you need isn't here, please get in touch.
