The Morgue
Corpses wait in the morgue until you handle them, and it’s also where you dissect them on the autopsy table. The entrance sits between your house and the graveyard. Step inside and you’ll see its load displayed as bodies / capacity.
How many bodies it holds
Capacity equals the morgue’s quality, and only three things contribute:
| Object | Adds | Built from |
|---|---|---|
| Autopsy Table I | 1 | Already there at the start |
| Corpse Pallet I | 1 each | 4 Boards, 4 Bronze Nails |
| Crematorium I | 1 | 6 Bricks, 6 Bronze Details |
That makes the starting capacity one, and the donkey won’t deliver while you’re full. The Corpse Pallet unlocks with the autopsy technology the story hands you, so it’s the obvious first build.
The front door
The morgue’s front door is broken. While it is, the donkey dumps bodies outside at the Corpse Dumping Point and it’s on you to carry them in. Fixing it takes one Iron Detail plus 3 Oiled Planks.
Expect it to stay broken for ages. An Iron Detail sits three technologies deep, and the stalls that sell one are in town across the bridge. Meanwhile every body lands outside; a Corpse Pallet raises capacity, but the donkey never uses it.
The blockage inside the morgue calls for the very same part, so it’s held up by the same technologies.
Through the old door at the back lies the Resurrection Lab, which opens for a Bronze Detail and a Melted Fat.
There at the start
What the scene files place here before you arrive: named objects, and what is inside each container.
Notes
- Bodies left outside can vanish. Off screen long enough, a body on the ground disappears without reward, though its morgue slot is freed.
- Space frees up only through burial, cremation or the river. Removing organs doesn’t count.
- The morgue’s build desk also makes Resurrection Tables. See Zombies.
