Davy the Dagger

The port’s looters answer to Davy the Dagger, who holds court in the Dockside Club. He turns up there after the first battle but has no time for you unless you bring business (“If you’re looking for small talk… you definitely got the wrong guy”). Once you do, he swaps loot his people pull from the zombie-held town for Keys for Looters, which you mainly earn by fighting in the sewers on his behalf. Further on he helps you locate the Old God’s cellar and sells you a way into the Royal Palace.

Wharf Rats

Herbert is after a romance novel left in his old house inside the zombie-held town and points you to the looters. In Wharf Rats, Davy says he’ll fetch it himself if you do some “swording” where he tells you: the two sewer brawls, 3 Keys for Looters apiece. Pay him a single key and you get the Love Novel and a Story; from then on he accepts orders.

The second brawl doubles as one of the three victories Herbert needs to secure the town’s south (Safe zone.). Afterwards Davy offers More keys, a zombie arena in the sewers he calls the “Sewrena”. Its seven fights run in sequence and pay 4, 4, 5, 5, 7, 7 and 10 keys.

Orders

Orders are Lust day only; any other day the option is greyed out. Pick a type of goods and a size, and pay in keys up front. About one in-game day later the crate shows up behind him in the club. You can only have one order open: Make an order vanishes until the crate arrives.

Crate Big, 4 keys Medium, 2 keys Small, 1 key
Techbooks 4–8 Red, Green or Blue Techbooks II 3–6 ordinary Techbooks, any of the three colours 1–3 ordinary Techbooks: Red, Green or Blue
Valuables 15–30 nuggets, 3–6 ingots 9–18 nuggets, 0–2 ingots 4–8 Golden nuggets; 33% chance of a Golden ingot
Stories 3–6 ★, 1–3 ★★; 50%: one ★★★ 2–5 ★; 50%: 1–2 ★★; 25%: one ★★★ 1–3 ★ Story; 25% chance of 1–2 ★★ as well
Seeds 50–100 each, ★★★ 12–24 each, ★★★ 12–24 each of ★★ cabbage, onion, pumpkin and grape seeds

Techbook colour is random, all three equally likely, until you’ve won both Closing the Eastern Floodgate battles. After that the menu asks whether you want red, green or blue.

Finding Old God

After the swamp ritual you’re hunting for a cellar in the sewers, “a cell, but not for humans”. Finding Old God begins at the club, where Linda says Davy is at the sewer entrance by the west gate. You catch him bargaining with Albert over a job. It turns out the cheese you keep finding is from Mauritzio’s cheese factory, and Davy badly wants into its cellar: get his men through and you can have half the cheese, “and the Ancient God too”. He gives you 2 Cheese, and the town’s sewer entrance unlocks.

Head down and speak to his men. They’re standing at the cellar wall where a door once was; now it’s solid stone, and blasting it would drop the street on everyone. Getting through takes the Red Eye.

Palace Politics

With six fragments in the portal, the seventh is in the Royal Palace, and Davy alone knows a way inside. Palace Politics charges 50 silver for what he knows. He asks for a day or two; go home, and next time you step out of your house he’s at the door with a map. The plan: enter via the sewers, hold off the zombies in the square by the palace, and find the hidden door in the wall. The final battle needs this briefing on every story path.

Quests

Notes

  • One order per Lust day at most. Order again once the crate lands, or wait for the next week.
  • Only big techbook crates hold Techbooks II. Small and medium ones contain ordinary Techbooks.
  • Seed crates always include all four seed types, grapes among them.
  • No collar orders. Crates of zombie collars exist in the files, but his menu never lists them.
  • No reputation, no shop. He deals in keys and nothing else.
  • Unconfirmed: the final arena fight is repeatable. It lacks a completion condition, so it apparently stays available and pays 10 keys each time.
