Harold

Harold runs the woodcarvers of the Stilt Houses, which stand in the middle of the western lake and are the safest spot in the infected district. He hauls driftwood out of the river, timber washed down from the northern mountains, and seasons it into Special Wood. You need that wood for Agatha’s organ and for several endgame gifts, and nobody else sells it. Harold, for his part, is never in a hurry.

Getting there

Agatha wants the church organ rebuilt and points you to the carvers on the lake, but their bridge lies in zombie territory. Herbert works out a route: the Battle at the Lake. Win it and the carvers across the water squabble over whether to drop their drawbridge for you, eventually do, and send you to their master. You also get the Flooded Quarter waystone marked on your map.

Organic Music

At the start of Organic Music, it takes Harold a moment to realise he’s the master woodcarver. He’s happy to sell wood as soon as his wood-catching machine is fixed, a job he plans for “tomorrow, maybe. Or next month”, since the parts are at the market and the market has people in it. Hand him 2 Building Kit I and 1 Iron Kit II; he takes them and then confesses the machine was just jammed.

After that, Special Wood is for sale through dialogue in lots of 1, 10, 50 or 100, at 1 silver each. Finishing the quest also kicks off the organ build: 4 Special Wood plus 6 Steel Details in the church.
