Time and the Week
| Unit | Real time |
|---|---|
| In-game hour | 18.75 seconds |
| Daytime (06:00–18:00) or night (18:00–06:00) | about 3 minutes 45 seconds each |
| Day | 7.5 minutes |
| Week (six days) | 45 minutes |
The six days carry the names of deadly sins and appear as icons rather than text. In order:
Gluttony,
Sloth,
Lust,
Envy,
Pride,
Wrath. A number of activities are locked to a single weekday, the big one being sermons on Wrath. Days change over at midnight, regardless of when you wake up.
What each day is for
Day-bound events open at 00:14 and, if they have a closing time, end at 23:45.
| Day | Special rule | Relevant from |
|---|---|---|
| The only day the PR Machine accepts loading. | Not available | |
| The only day battles can begin. | The second battle onward; the first is exempt | |
| The Resurrection device recharges at 23:45, ready for the following day. | Yes | |
| All-day thunderstorm; the Resurrection device works only now. | Yes | |
| At 00:14 the weekly happiness caps of the town traders reset. | Yes, for Januarius and Herm | |
| Sermons can be held, one per week. | Yes |
Two more fixed routines:
- Body deliveries. After Certificate, Please, the donkey turns up at 13:12 on Gluttony, Lust and Pride. A visit doesn’t guarantee a body; Corpses explains when it skips.
- Traders receive their daily income and nudge their stock back toward normal every midnight.
Day icons on the HUD
The wheel at the top of the screen shows the current day and its neighbours. A day only gets its special icon once the story has introduced its purpose: Envy when you fix the Resurrection device, Sloth after you win the first battle, Gluttony along with the PR Machine.
Wrath’s icon shows up once you’ve held your first sermon.
What sleep does to time
Going to bed makes the entire world run 50 times faster. Crafts, drying racks, crops, the clock and your buff timers all advance at that rate.
The game doesn’t jump ahead; it simulates every step, so the day’s events still take place while you’re asleep. If you sleep past 23:45 on Wrath, that week’s sermon window closes all the same.
You get up the moment energy is full, whatever the hour. From 0 to 100 energy takes roughly 6 in-game hours, and no sleep is shorter than about 4 in-game hours. A sleep at home also saves your game.
Notes
- Skip Wrath and you get no Faith that week. Faith only comes from sermons, and the next chance is 45 minutes off.
- Unused weekly limits vanish. Any trader happiness you didn’t claim before Pride is gone once the counter resets.
- One resurrection session per week. The device only recharges at the close of Lust and empties when used on Envy. All prepared tables come alive together, so get every one ready before you start.
- Deliveries come every other day, always Gluttony, Lust and Pride. Clear space in the morgue before 13:12 on each.
- The first battle doesn’t care about Sloth. It can be fought any day; every later battle waits for Sloth.
