The Port

The Port is the stretch of town that never fell. Win the first battle, step onto the bridge, and Jack lowers it from the far bank to let you in. Much of the story’s middle either takes place here or begins here, and it’s the entry point for the town’s trade, orders and incoming settlers.

Map of the port

Location Characters Why you go there
Main Pier Trademaster His shop, once the floating lights are working; the Lust-day ships; a plot for a market stall
Astrologer’s Tower, on an enormous stone foot Gunter Comet’s Tail, zombies, collar crystals; later the portal frame that takes every fragment
Dockside Club Linda, Davy the Dagger Trading Green Scrolls for settlers; the looters’ Lust-day orders; later a ship’s captain and refugees
Town Warehouse The Trademaster, then Jack until his workshop is back The order board for town orders; a cellar linked to the underground
Beside Gunter’s house Nobody The PR Machine, after Gunter installs it

You pick up town orders from the warehouse order board, Pride day only. Crates placed on the pallets in the warehouse or its cellar are tallied every Pride-day morning (Orders). The cellar is reachable only from inside the warehouse, and one of its two blockages to the underground stays sealed until you’ve visited the warehouse once (The Factory explains).

Other characters

The Fisherman appears after the first battle, moaning that fishing isn’t what it was, and sets you a challenge whose prizes grow with the difficulty of the fish:

Deliver Reward
5 River fish fillets Sea fish dishes recipes and a Town Gratitude
5 Sea fish fillets; fish off the pier, since his own spot is off limits Mysterious fish dishes recipes and 2 Town Gratitude
5 Mysterious fish fillets His golden rod, a Pro Rod, with 3 Town Gratitude

Homobonus, an aspiring water merchant, arrives by the warehouse after you repair the town’s small house. No one wants bottled water and his bottles are cracked anyway; give him 10 Empty Bottles for 2 Town Gratitude and a Story, drawn from his uncle’s old books. Once the southern town is cleared he returns wealthy, having written a self-help book about selling water, and now short of Faith. From then on he pays 5 silver for every 10 Faith.

There at the start

What the scene files place here before you arrive: named objects, and what is inside each container.

Notes

  • Two outlets for spare Faith. Homobonus gives 5 silver per 10 Faith; the Dockside Club’s captain gives a Story for 10. Neither has a limit in the game files, so both appear repeatable (Unconfirmed).
  • Orders are Pride-day business. Taking or swapping orders is Pride day only, and deliveries are counted the following Pride-day morning.
  • The Fisherman’s exact spot isn’t in the files. A script places him at a point missing from the extracted scene data.
